Big Boys Are Good Medicine

Dylan is recovering from yet another double ear infection which made him a sad guy this weekend. Jude and Max were a welcome distraction from the many episodes of Sesame Street that we watched (that theme song to "Elmo's World" is very catchy). He was able to show them all of his favorite haunts at the park and they were able to rediscover some fun baby toys, like the ball popper.

Gobble! Gobble!

Dylan enjoyed his second Turkey Day with the family in the Bronx. Ellen did a great job hosting her first Thanksgiving dinner and I actually witnessed Aunt Barbara sit down and kick back. Dylan loved all of the attention, especially from his Nonna. Here he shows off his toes which was an added bonus because it was a balmy 67 degrees. His outfit was in need of one large gold chain due to the fact that his button down was all unbuttoned by the end of the day. I can dress him as preppy as I like but in the end, his Italian Stallion ways are sure to pop out.

The Avid Reader

Dylan loves his books! Anytime Jay or I sit in a chair, he is quick to go to his bookself and bring us a book to read. Even when I'm puttering around his room, he will often plop down in his closet and "read" to himself. This has become a huge distraction during the dreaded diaper change and he will often "tell" me the story, then proceed to eat the book. The library has a great selection of books and we are constantly there for some new material. Some favorite books/authors include Nancy Tafuri, Sue Williams, Bill Byron and the Curious George series. Here he is at Aunt Donna's baby shower, keeping himself entertained.

I'm A Little Stegosaurus

Now that fall is officially here, I decided to capture some playground moments. A typical shot of Dylan on the move which is too fast for my camera.
Dylan takes a moment to contemplate the clouds before his slide. The colors of the trees were popping with hues of reds and yellows.
Dylan explores the slide and has just as much fun climbing up as going down. Even mittens couldn't defeat him!
Dylan loves this tunnel and thinks peek-a-boo is the best game to play in here. Look at those teeth!

Halloween: A Spooky Look Back

This Halloween was very special because Dylan had his Grammy and Grampy with him on the big night. First, we partied with the other tots from our parents' group. Dylan was not a big fan of the chaos that ensued when a dozen or so toddlers were let loose but he did love Eva's pet bunny and dog.

After the party, we walked down our main drag, 7th Ave., as part of the annual Halloween Parade. Our favorite costumes included Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat and Things 1 and 2 accompanied by baby Cat in the Hat. Grampy really perked up when he spotted the local fire company. I can't say that Dylan was as keen on the whole fire engine experience (see above sadness).


My memories of new mommyhood have gotten a little hazy now that Dylan is walking around. I looked back at the pics from last Halloween and couldn't believe how little he was. I think these two photos really show how far we've all come since the Sad Cow fiasco.
